A new tradition in our family now is to stop by Shoes Coffee and Cork Club in downtown Leesburg after church on Sundays. I just LOVE, LOVE this place! Reminds me of a day when things were simpler and the typical pace of life was much slower. Shoes is located in the old shoe repair store on North Main St in downtown Leesburg. The vintage décor pays homage to this old Leesburg landmark, incorporating elements of the former shoe repair shop into almost every nook and cranny. This shop was a mainstay on Main Street Leesburg for decades – I can even remember driving by it when we first moved here and explaining to my kids why you'd need a shoe repair shop – they didn't understand why you would want to repair shoes when you can just throw them out and get new ones =).
I decided last time we were there to take some pictures and try to capture even just even an ounce of all the warmth and personality this coffee shop has. As usual, I am not the best photographer so only one picture was blog worthy but fortunately I was able supplement with some I found on online.

A window treatment doesn't get any simpler than this – a burlap bag over a pipe.

Who needs expensive lighting fixture when tin pails, clear glass bulbs and some old shoes will do just fine. So fits with the vibe of this place! I sit and try to imagine the outfits that went with these shoes. Something tells me petticoats were involved.

The interior décor is such a great eclectic mix of furniture. Proof that you don't have to match everything to pull off a great look and it really adds to the charm!

Besides yummy coffee drinks and a white chocolate hot chocolate my kids swear by, their menu includes a wide array of breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings as well.

Stepping into Shoes really feels like stepping back in time. It reminds you of an era when the typical pace of life was much different than today and people did take the time to sit down and REALLY catch up with friends for more than a brief moment. Not only do I love the décor, I love the feeling Shoes leaves me with each time I visit.
